Pathology & Microbiology

DEPARTMENT OF ANATOMY Pathology : Pathos Suffering. Logos means Study
So Pathology is a Science of suffering humanity.

It is sufficiently equipped with microtome, hot plate, haemocytometer, haemoglobinometer microscopes, centrifugal machine, autoclave, incubator, haemometer, urinometer, ephygomanometer etc to conduct practical classes as well as for clinical diagnostic aids for OPD & IPD patients. Various charts, slides, models & preserved specimens are kept in the laboratory that facilitate students to gain practical knowledge. Teaching through microscopic study of different pathological specimen kept in museum is carried out under supervision of experienced faculty. There is a Demonstration Hall with arrangements for audio-visual aids.

The teaching of Pathology includes clinical, and practical classes with class lectures, seminars and tutorials. Practical class consists of clinical pathology, heamatology, cytology and urine analysis. There is histopathological demonstration of slides and specimens.

It Includes - General Pathology, Systematic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Bacteriology, Microbiolgoy, Parasitology (General & Systematic), Virology.

"Physicians who abandon pathological anatomy cease to understand the illness & their efforts to oppose it will be as shallow as they themselves are" - Dr. Perz Tamayo.

Pathology in relation to Homoeopathy

It helps in correct diagnosis and disease
Selection of the correct remedy
For detection of infections and infestations.
It also helps to detect diseases, which cannot be diagnosed on clinical grounds.
All this is possible as we co-relate pathology with our concepts of susceptibility and miasms.

The teaching of Pathology & Bacteriology is done very cautiously and judiciously, while allopathy associates the pathology of tissue and micro organisms with disease conditions and considers bacteria as conditioned cause of diseases, homoeopathy regards disease as purely a dynamic disturbance of the vital force expressed as altered sensations and functions which may or may not ultimate in gross tissue changes. The tissue changes are not therefore an essential part of the disease perse and are not accordingly in homoeopathy the object of treatment by medication.
