Burdwan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and is duly permitted by Central Council of Homoeopathy, to conduct regular under - graduate course in Homoeopathy viz. Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery [B.H.M.S.] and it is recognized by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Deptt. of ‘AYUSH’ and Govt of west Bengal, Deptt. of Health & Family Welfare Ayush Branch. Permitted by Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi and affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

At BHMCH we recognize that no science can be static and to enrich the science of homoeopathy continuous learning and compilation of experience of its practitioners must continue. This medical college caters to the changing needs of homoeopathic learning and an expression of Homoeopathic Pioneer’s commitment towards providing quality education. The institute endeavors to produce learned homoeopaths with a rich and commanding knowledge of the fundamentals of Homoeopathy. We guide and support our students throughout the course and beyond as they tread the path of learning homoeopathy.

This was the only college in W.B. who got permission to run the graded BHMS course of 2 years duration under the University of Burdwan and The West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

Here, the students receive quality education from qualified professional teachers with years of experience. Most of the teachers of this Institute are not only highly qualified, experienced, but are P.G. Guide of different Universities in India and Medical Inspector under Central Council of Homoeopathy. Apart from receiving quality education from qualified, committed teachers they have access to a broad range of electronic resources. Students also have ample opportunities to witness practice homoeopathy intensively.

Students are encouraged to participate in Seminars, Debates and Cultural Program and emphasis is given to boost up the overall personality and inquisitiveness of the students. Our professional counselors are available for the students to sort out their queries.

HISTORY
The College was established on 14th June, 1978. Initially it started with the then prevailing D.M.S. course under Council of Homoeopathic Medicine, W.B. and since 1983 as per the directive of Central Council of Homoeopathy it started unified diploma course D.H.M.S. In the year 1992 Central Council of Homoeopathy decided to upgrade all the Homoeopathic Institutions in the country from diploma to Degree level and after getting due affiliations and permissions from concerned authorities our college started degree course, i.e. B.H.M.S. in the year 1995.
BHMC&H is a modern and progressive institute of homoeopathic learning having all the necessary educational tools. The college premises stretch over a vast land of 7.13 acres. The college has well equipped laboratories, museums, demonstration hall, dissection hall, lecture theatre with modern and highly sophisticated equipments.

LOCATION
Burdwan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, which is dedicated to provide quality education to the youth, is conveniently located at heart of Burdwan City at Nibark Bhaban, Rajganj. Nutanganj, Burdwan – 713102, west Bengal. Burdwan is a historical place where Mughal and Hindu kings ruled for years. Our College is located at king’s religious field “Mahanto Asthal” stretching over a Sprawling 7.13 Acres of land, still possessing some prestigious heritage building including cinematic holy Radha-Krishna Temple fully constructed with precious stones having beautiful old sculptures. The precious land and building of our college has graciously been donated by his highness Sri Radha Kanta Saran Dev Mahanto Maharaj by a deed of Settlement on 30.06.1979. The college authority as per its further need in addition to old buildings, it built another two separate buildings, one for the college purpose and the other for Hospital purpose. It has spacious OPD surrounding the old heritage buildings.

We have also separate staff quarter and hostel for Boys within the campus. Beside college, hospital, heritage building we possess separate Football, Cricket, Volley and Badminton ground with other Indoor game facilities within same college premises.

This college, from the educational and cultural point of view is the best Homoeopathic Institute in W.B. which is accessible by, train, bus and other means of communication. Nearest Railway station is Burdwan Junction what is only 2 K.M. away while capital city Kolkata is only 95 K.M. away.
