Medicine is an ever changing science. Clinical medicine is an important subject for BHMS. It incorporates the knowledge student have acquired with preclinical subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology etc in the diagnosis of diseases. So far homoeopathy has been publicized to be symptom oriented modality of treatment but with the introduction of modern medical subjects in the curriculum subjects are now empowered with modern concepts of disease investigation, prevention and treatment plan of a disease.
This has led to better
understanding of medicine and diagnosis based
management of disease by homoeopathy. It has
created comprehension about prognosis of various
disorders, the holistic concept of homoeopathy
has been strengthened.
The scientific clarity of management and importance of ‘Evidence based Medicine' is promoted for the modern homoeopathy graduates. The homoeopaths are now interested in research oriented activities with a vision. In developing countries like ours, ‘Pocket friendly’ homoeopathy and its individualistic approach towards the promotion of physique, psyche and soul is definitely popularizing the system in common masses.
The department is well
equipped with reference books, equipments, and
informational charts, to impart proper
education. The Practice of medicine in
Homeopathy is practice of Homoeopathic Medicine,
which incorporates the study of disease and
individualization, which forms the corner stone
of Homoeopathic practice. In addition to class
room teaching seminars, inpatient and out
patient teaching is also imparted to students
from II BHMS onwards. Internees are posted for a
month in the dept. Teaching is also given on ECG,
X-ray, Ultra Sound Scan and accessory aids like
Oxygen theraphy, Nebulaisation etc. Teaching
provide facilities for imparting practical and
clinical skills to make the students self
reliant and confident to understand the clinical
problem, diagnose the disease with great amount
of accuracy, prescribe a rational medicine.
Students are made to understand the scope and
limitation of the system. .
Apart from the traditional
class room teaching, the staff employs modern
audiovisual aids as an important tool for
training the students.
In practical's, the Doctor – patient relationship is encouraged as it is an important aspect of treatment outcome.
Routine bedside teaching in hospital wards.
Exposure in various peripheral OPDs.
Case taking & presentation are the crucial aspect of medical training programme. This leads to better understanding of human behaviour and teachers the upcoming homoeopaths how to establish a rapport with their patients.
